Area of Coaching Interest:
The majority of my client base are Ultramarathon runners but I work with all runners who want to improve their ability.
Experience as an athlete:
I completed a few sub 3 marathons before moving on to Ultramarathons. I have now completed about 20 Ultramarathons ranging from 33 miles to over 150 around a track in 24hrs. I was fortunate to become Scottish Ultra Trail champion in 2014 and am most at home running a long way in the hills.
Experience as a coach:
I have been coaching since 2015 when I qualified as a Coach in Running Fitness via British Athletics accreditation. Currently, I coach at a local running club as well as running Couch to 5K programmes in the local area. Under my Runrecover brand, I have a number of athletes that I coach remotely, providing training plans, online support and a monthly call.
I enjoy working with athletes looking to improve their running and explore the boundaries of their endurance capacity. Seeing someone beat their time objective or smash their PB after working with them towards it, is as good a feeling as winning the race myself. I believe recovery is “training” also and something that contributes substantially to consistent improvement.
